Ingredients

Steps

  1. 1

In a large bowl, combine 1.5 cups of warm water and 1 package of rapid rise yeast. Stir in 2 tablespoons of sugar and let it proof until bubbles form.

  2. 2

Add 2 large eggs and 1 teaspoon of kosher salt to the yeast mixture and mix well until smooth.

  3. 3

Gradually add 3.5 cups of all-purpose flour to the mixture, folding it in until a shaggy dough forms. You may need to add more flour if the dough is too wet.

  4. 4

Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes elastic and smooth.

  5. 5

Grease a bowl lightly and place the dough inside. Cover with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  6. 6

Once risen, shape the dough and place it in a greased loaf pan or a preheated Dutch oven.

  7. 7

Make a shallow incision on top of the dough and pour 2 tablespoons of melted butter over it.

  8. 8

Cover the dough again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

  9. 9

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the bread for 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown.

Heads up — we had to guess a little:

  • The quantity for garlic powder and onion powder is inferred as optional ingredients based on common bread recipes.
