Ingredients
Steps
- 1
In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of cold whole milk, 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, and 1 packet of banana pudding mix. Whisk together until well combined and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes to thicken.
- 2
In another bowl, prepare the whipped cream by mixing 3 cups of heavy whipping cream, 1/4 cup of powdered sugar, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Whisk until soft peaks form, being careful not to overmix.
- 3
Fold the whipped cream into the banana pudding mixture until well combined.
- 4
Slice 3 ripe bananas into thin medallions.
- 5
In a saucepan over medium heat, add 1 cup of white sugar and whisk until it starts to melt and turn a caramel color. Be patient and keep stirring.
- 6
Once the sugar is melted and caramelized, remove from heat and add 6 tablespoons of butter. Expect a bubbling reaction; this is normal. Stir until the butter is fully melted and combined.
- 7
Add a shot of 99 Bananas liqueur and a pinch of salt to the caramel, then stir in some heavy cream to achieve the desired consistency. Let it cool slightly before using.
- 8
To assemble, layer the bottom of a serving dish with Chesman cookies, followed by a layer of the banana pudding mixture, then a layer of sliced bananas. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with whipped cream on top.
- 9
Drizzle the homemade caramel sauce over the top of the assembled banana pudding before serving.
Heads up — we had to guess a little:
- The quantity of bananas was inferred based on typical usage in banana pudding recipes.
